Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children” (Lam. 2:19)
Last week I challenged you to pray bold and brave prayers for your school children. I provided you with bold and brave prayers for their protection at school and for the academic year. Furthermore, you were given additional prayers for Days 1-3.
Parents and the community need to call for united prayer for the lives of children, teens, and college students attending schools and colleges around the world. In light of the challenges that arose from the pandemic, the school shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, and the state of our school systems we must pray without ceasing.
I ask you to take the challenge and take part in the following action plan.
Action Plan:
1. Join us in praying for our school-age children, youth, and college students this month. Write the name of your child, teen, and college student, age, and the name of their school and college. Send the names to lindafegins@prayandactwrite.com or ldfaygo@gmail.com if you wish. We will join in prayer with you for them.
2. Daily pray for our children for salvation, protection, academics and more. See last week’s email for those specific prayers. https://www.prayandactwrite.com/school-prayers/bold-and-brave-back-to-school-prayers-and-action-by-linda-fegins/
3. Adopt a school to pray for in your neighborhood or in any place throughout your city. Pray for the school of your child‘s school or college.
4. [Pray daily] I pray in Jesus’ name that every child and every school throughout the world will be covered in prayer.
Here is another prayer of protection for your children:
Back 2 School Prayer by Charnie
Dear Heavenly Father,
Let this school year be their best year ever with excellent grades, favor with teachers and classmates, and good behavior all covered by Your protection. Enable our children to continue growing in wisdom and stature all the days of their lives. Let Your peace and understanding envelop them at all times. Let your joy be their strength. Help them to trust You as their refuge and fortress.
Guard their minds from bad counsel and peer pressure. Bless them with Your Spirit of discernment to know and do what is right at all times. Strengthen their heart and spirit to resist the devil, so that he/she will flee from them. Teach them to cast all their anxiety upon You, trusting and genuinely knowing that You care for them. Let Your light shine in their lives and cause all forms of darkness around them to flee. Make them strong and courageous in the presence of danger. Let them be assured You will never leave nor forsake them as they remain strong in You and Your mighty power. In Jesus name I/we pray, Amen.#Back2SchoolPrayerbyCharnie #Lindapraysforstudentsandschools
Specific prayers for your children for days 4 to 10 are below:
Day 4- Wisdom
Pray that your child will develop the ability to discern right from wrong and put it into practice on a daily basis at school and in the community. Lord bless my children with wisdom.
5- Protection
Pray that God will protect your child from harm’s way. Lord in the name of Jesus keep my children (name each one of them) and other children physically safe in the classrooms, in the bathrooms and on the school grounds and as they walk to school and sit in the classroom. Guard them from the evil one. Dismantle any plan to harm them or other students. Protect and deliver them from bullying or violence. (Psalm 91; John 17:15)
Day 6- Intimacy with God
Draw my children in a personal relationship with You that they may taste your goodness and long for you. Let them know you will watch over them at school and that they are not alone at school when their mother and father cannot be there. ( Ps. 27:8 ;34:8; John 14:16-17).
Day 7- Obedience and respect
Lord, I pray my child shall walk in obedience to me as a parent and will be obedient and respectful to his/her teacher, principal, and to authority. I pray that he/she will obey the classroom and school rules and procedures. Lord grant my child____________ a wise and obedient heart that will appropriately obey You, me, school authorities and lawful authorities that it may be well with my child.
Day 8- Self-control
Pray that your child will learn self-control and have the discipline to use it in even the toughest of situations. (Prov 20:11 AMP)
Day 9- Purpose
Pray that God’s plan and purpose will be manifested in the lives of your children at school and in the world; that _______ (name child) will do good works at school and in the community. Pray that the learning abilities, skills, and talents will be recognized and nurtured by teachers, administrators, and parents. (See Micah 6:8; Eph 2:10)
Day 10- Good Study Habits
Pray that your children will be seriously minded and work hard to acquire both secular and spiritual knowledge. Pray that the Lord will bless ______ with clarity as he/she studies. Pray that the Lord helps him/her to be diligent in doing his/her homework and school/college assignments. May _____ avoid procrastination and may he/she do his/her work as unto the Lord.
